In a game reminiscent of Superbowl XLII, Patong beat the previously perfect (5-0) KICC to complete the biggest sporting upset since Sonny Liston stayed on his stool after the 6th round - that was in 1964.
The victory was set up by a wonderfully intense bowling & fielding performance, with all bowlers contributing to restricting KICC to just 152, after they had looked like putting on a big score.
The batsmen were rarely troubled by a KICC attack missing star bowler Ismael. Always in front of the rate & with wickets in hand, captain fantastic Raju Seemant fittingly finished the game by clubbing a massive six to cow corner in the 30th Over.
Star bowler & curry chef Anil Rawat was rightly named player of the season at the post match award ceremony.
